How We Research
Every guide on After Biz Life answers one question: will this cart or bag make your walking round easier? A cart that suits a flat course and a big SUV can be the wrong buy for a hilly course and a small trunk.
Here is how we get to an answer.
1. We start with how you play
We ask how you get around the course and how you get there. Carrying, pushing and using an electric caddy each need different gear.
That tells us which carts and bags to look at first. Sometimes the right answer is a light stand bag, and sometimes it's a 4-wheel cart with a cart bag.
2. We check the specs that matter
For carts, we compare weight, folded size, wheel count, brakes, the bag bracket and how many steps it takes to open. For bags, we compare weight, divider count, pockets, straps, stand legs and how the base sits on a cart.
We give extra weight to folded size and bag fit. Those two shape whether you'll actually use the gear every week.
3. We check the maker's claims
Makers describe their own products, so we name the brand for every claim, as in "Sun Mountain says the fabric is waterproof". We look at the warranty terms the maker publishes.
For electric caddies, we report the maker's battery and range claims as claims. Course rules on powered caddies differ, so we tell you to check with your course.
4. We read what owners report
We look for patterns in what owners say after a season of use. Wobbly wheels, straps that slip, stands that snap and zippers that fail all count.
One unhappy owner doesn't sink a product. A pattern does.
5. We score each product
Our score weighs specs, features and owner feedback against what you're shopping for. A cart that fits one guide may score lower in a guide written for a different golfer.
Scores spread out on purpose. A 10 is rare.
6. We keep pages current
Golf brands refresh models every year and sell close cousins under similar names. We check model years, link only new units and skip any model with a known recall.
When a guide changes in a real way, the "Updated on" date at the top changes with it.
What our picks are not
Our picks come from research, not lab tests or rounds on the course. We don't claim to have used every cart or bag we cover.
Colors, model years and stock change often, so check the exact model on the store's page before you buy.
